Benefits Specialist

Onsite Location: Irvine, CA

Pay Range: $30-$35 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Benefits Specialist to support the administration, auditing, and compliance of employee benefit programs. This role will partner closely with internal teams, vendors, and insurance carriers to ensure accurate processing, exceptional service, and seamless benefit operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, audit, reconcile, and process monthly benefit invoices; track and maintain departmental budgets.
  • Process benefit reimbursements and assist employees with medical reimbursement plans.
  • Upload and maintain employee information with medical reimbursement plan carriers for new hires and promotions.
  • Attend weekly meetings with benefit carriers and vendors.
  • Prepare and deliver reporting for the Finance department.
  • Fulfill and track ergonomic equipment requests.
  • Review and approve employee benefit enrollments, including qualifying life events; audit eligibility and process COBRA.
  • Support ACA compliance activities and assist with preparation of annual 1095-C forms.
  • Conduct benefits orientation for new hires and provide ongoing education regarding benefit offerings.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries sent to the Benefits inbox.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve carrier file feed errors, enrollment discrepancies, and system issues.
  • Manage benefits billing for affiliates.
  • Educate employees on available benefit plans, including group health, life, and disability coverage.
  • Update, maintain, and distribute required compliance posters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned related to Benefits administration.

Desired Experience

  • Previous experience in benefits administration with strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail when managing benefit records, claims, and compliance-related tasks.
  • Experience collaborating with brokers, carriers, and third-party vendors.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to support employees at all levels.
